After a visit of our cellar, begin the adventure by climbing up a rope to a suspended platform, safely and under the supervision of a qualified Instructor. Sitting up there, taste the excellence of the Château de Rayne Vigneau. Under the benevolent shade of a cedar tree, facing the breathtaking view over the Sauternes vineyard, learn to appreciate the subtleties of our Sauternes with the guidance of our wine specialist.

2013 Vintage

Our first impressions

Although the climate during the 2013 vintage proved to be complicated, the quality of the vintage in Sauternes was rescued by development of botrytis of an exceptional purity.

The successive passages through the vines have brought out two typical styles. The harvest from the first passages reveals a fine expression of fruit. The acidity is then enveloped, velvety in the mouth, thanks to the generosity and the opulence that came from grapes from the later sortings. 2013 is a new opportunity to recognise what constitutes, vintage after vintage, the signature of Château Rayne Vigneau: an exceptional tightness of freshness and opulence.

This new year has began in a good way for Château de Rayne Vigneau which has been recognize as one of the 1300 best French Châteaux by La Revue du Vin de France in its Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2014 vintage.
We are so glad that our team work be recognized and rewarded by laudatory comments for Châteaux de Rayne Vigneau “a wine of very good level, elegant and floral”.

Château de Rayne Vigneau honored for its 2009 & 2010 vintage

Decanter magazine article puts our grand cru Sauternes to honor on the occasion of its Sauternes 2009 & 2010 selection.
Taster gives it grades between 18.5 and 19/20 and defined it as “rich and explosive” for Stephen Brook, “elegant and stylish and beautifully balanced” for Sebastian Payne MW and “exotic and vigorous” for Steven Spurrier. We are proud of our Château de Rayne Vigneau and very happy that this wine could be notified in this magazine.

2012 Vintage

Our first impressions

The 2012 winegrowing season was characterized by difficult weather conditions that required a great deal of vigilance in the vineyard.
A cold, rainy spring, followed by a particularly dry summer, slowed down the vines' growth cycle, resulting in uneven ripening and delaying the onset of noble rot.

We harvested steadily from 10 October to 2 November. There were only five days (15, 16, 17, 23 and 24 October) when we were able to harvest small quantities of grapes with excellent qualitative potential.
These premium quality batches are at the heart of our 2012 blend. The result is a particularly fine Rayne Vigneau 2012, available in relatively small quantities.
